In college, Laura felt a strong draw to social work and had a clear vision of pursuing a career in a helping profession. She graduated from BYU with a degree in social work and later earned a master’s in social work from the University of Utah.
Upon discovering perinatal mental health, Laura identified it as her desired specialty. Advocating for new moms and raising awareness about the mental and emotional aspects of pregnancy and the postpartum period became her passion. Laura firmly believes that new parents deserve better support, and there is a significant need for education for individuals preparing for the perinatal period.
As a mother of three children, Laura brings both personal and professional experience to her commitment to providing support, education, and resources to all parents. In 2017, she initiated her solo therapy practice, which has since evolved into Roots & Branches Wellness. Over time, Laura expanded the practice by bringing on additional therapists to join the team.
Our clients report feeling understood and validated in their experiences. Through therapy they have found better coping skills, increased self-awareness, and improved relationships.
We offer a niche that resonates with many of our clients. Clients that have are in the perinatal period will benefit from our specialized training in mental health for pregnancy and postpartum, as well as our emphasis on relationships.
Throughout the year we offer group therapy sessions, and in the future are hoping to offer yoga and other healing modalities.
