A synth pop ode to the anxieties, rage, and yearning of young suburban girlhood. Uses the framing device of a troubled teen leaving voicemails in the inbox of a stranger. It’s not enough for me for a song to just capture a feeling or a place or a moment in time; it must also tell a story. Maybe I write “literary pop”– somewhere between the baroque pop ballads of the Decemberists and direct musical theatre storytelling.
