What Services or Products does your business provide?

We are a Japanese restaurant that offers dine in and take out! We serve high quality sushi, nigiri, and sashimi! However, we have meals suitable for everyone. We also have ramen, donburi bowls, curry, bento boxes, and much more cooked favorites!

What types of advertising are you currently doing and what types of advertising have been most successful for you in the past? (It’s ok if it isn’t IndoorMedia 😊)

Facebook is effective, Instagram, TikTok, Google, campaigns and promotions through third party delivery companies, and mail home magazines

How many employees does the business have? Are there any special employees that have a unique story? Are there any employees who have been with the company a particularly long time?

About 10 employees. My longest employee has been with us for 3 years but the restaurant for 6 years total. Most of my staff have been with me for 1+ years!

In your own words, please write a paragraph about how the owner or partners got interested in starting this business. Is the owner the first person in their family to own a business? Did they have a career before starting this business? Were there any specific challenges they faced in opening or keeping the business open?

I’ve been in the restaurant business my whole life. My husband found this restaurant for sale and we decided to branch off and own our own business. During the day I’m a social worker at hospitals and my husband works as a software engineer. The challenges we faced were post COVID effects and inflation cost of wages and inventory. Another challenge is the location, a lot of people in our community don’t know we exist, so marketing have been a major focus.

Tell a story about a great customer experience.

We go above and beyond for our guests. We customized a lot of sushi rolls and entrees to fit specific dietary needs. We do allow substitutions to accommodate our guests as well.

Explain why a customer should consider your business instead of going to a competitor.

We are a small family business. What we earn is a very small margin. Our profit often times are focused on; to help them have job security. And to also provide for our little family. We work day jobs to fulfill the income that the restaurant may not provide for us.

What extra services do you offer that people might not know about? For example, restaurants might offer catering and Car Washes might offer shampooing of seats and carpet.

We offer events to help bring guests into kaysville and to allow families to have fun while enjoying dinner. We’ve done Karaoke, kids night, and now we’re doing PaintNite!
