We provide a full range of dental services, including cleanings, exams, extractions, root canals, implants, orthodontics, cosmetic treatments, and more. Our goal is to offer personalized, high-quality care to keep every smile healthy and bright.

What types of advertising are you currently doing and what types of advertising have been most successful for you in the past? (It’s ok if it isn’t IndoorMedia 😊)

We are expanding our efforts with IndoorMedia, particularly through the Digital Boost campaign, which complements our physical advertising on shopping carts at the nearby Winn-Dixie. In addition, we are leveraging IndoorMedia’s Find Local campaign to strengthen our digital footprint and improve our search engine presence, making it easier for patients to discover us online. Beyond these initiatives, our primary form of marketing continues to be Google Ads, primarily through Search Campaigns and Performance Max Campaigns, which allow us to reach patients actively searching for dental services.

Lakes Dental Group is fully licensed and certified to operate in Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida. We proudly maintain all of our required operating permits, including certifications from the Florida Department of Health, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, and the Bureau of Radiation Control.

How many employees does the business have? Are there any special employees that have a unique story? Are there any employees who have been with the company a particularly long time?

Lakes Dental Group has a team of 9 dedicated employees, each playing an important role in a different branch of dentistry. For example, Yanel Echemendia focuses on surgery, while Raquel Hadad leads orthodontics, providing treatments like braces and Invisalign to align teeth and improve smiles. One especially unique team member is Diosangel Muñoz, who first began helping informally when the clinic opened in 2024 and has since grown into the vital role of managing our social media and digital presence. Her creativity and dedication connect Lakes Dental Group with the community, bringing in new patients while adding warmth and positivity to our environment.

In your own words, please write a paragraph about how the owner or partners got interested in starting this business. Is the owner the first person in their family to own a business? Did they have a career before starting this business? Were there any specific challenges they faced in opening or keeping the business open?

Dr. Alfonso was born in Cuba, where he began gaining dental experience, before moving to the United States to further his skills and later earning his Doctor of Dentistry degree in the Dominican Republic to fulfill his dream of opening his own clinic. He is the first in his family to become a business owner, alongside his wife, Sandra Montiel, an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner and founder of a medical spa offering beauty services. Together, they built a unique practice that combines dental care with aesthetic services. Like many new businesses, the greatest challenge was starting with no patients and gradually earning trust in a competitive community. However, through quality care, exceptional service, and word-of-mouth referrals, they successfully grew their patient base and are establishing a thriving family clinic.

One of the most memorable experiences we’ve had at Lakes Dental Group came from a patient who admitted they usually felt anxious about going to the dentist. From the moment they walked in, our front desk team made them feel welcomed and at ease. During treatment, Dr. Alfonso took extra time to explain each step clearly and performed the procedure with both precision and care. The patient was amazed not only at the professionalism and knowledge of the doctor, but also at how compassionate and attentive the entire staff was — even the dental assistants went out of their way to check in and make sure they were comfortable. By the end of the visit, what started as nerves turned into trust and relief.

Patients should choose Lakes Dental Group because we treat everyone like family, not just another appointment. We go above and beyond to make our patients feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for, always accommodating their needs with personalized attention.

What extra services do you offer that people might not know about? For example, restaurants might offer catering and Car Washes might offer shampooing of seats and carpet.

In addition to our full range of dental services, we also offer advanced aesthetic treatments through Lovely Skin Med Spa, operated by Sandra Montiel, the wife of Dr. Giraldo Alfonso. Within our office, we have a private treatment room dedicated to anti-aging and rejuvenation services such as Botox, PRP, and PRF. This unique addition allows patients to enjoy both dental care and professional skin treatments under one roof, combining health, beauty, and confidence in a welcoming environment.
