What types of advertising are you currently doing and what types of advertising have been most successful for you in the past? (It’s ok if it isn’t IndoorMedia 😊)

Google adds. We have used Rev Local and IndoorMedia in the past but he most successful has been word of mouth.

Are there any certifications, awards, or media recognition for the business? Please include certifications that may seem obvious, like certification from the board of health for restaurants.

We are licensed by the Ohio State Board of Motor Vehicle Repair. We are certified by ICAR, ASE, PPG, and we have acquired several other Manufacturer-Specific Certifications for product training and usage. We were awarded 8th most experienced body shop in America by Body Shop Business Magazine.

How many employees does the business have? Are there any special employees that have a unique story? Are there any employees who have been with the company a particularly long time?

8 Employees. We have a long-time employee who has been with the company since 1994. Barney’s is the only place he has ever worked. Another employee who has been with us for 16 years with 28 years’ experience in the collision repair industry. And we have a Master Certified Mechanic with over 40 years’ experience.

In your own words, please write a paragraph about how the owner or partners got interested in starting this business. Is the owner the first person in their family to own a business? Did they have a career before starting this business? Were there any specific challenges they faced in opening or keeping the business open?

James Bernard aka. Barney founded Barney’s Body Shop in 1948 in what we have been told was an old car dealership that sold Model T’s back in early 1900’s in the Short North area of Columbus Ohio. Barneys has been family owned and operated ever since.

We deliver superior repair quality and outstanding customer service, with a proven track record of helping customers navigate the insurance and repair process with confidence.

What extra services do you offer that people might not know about? For example, restaurants might offer catering and Car Washes might offer shampooing of seats and carpet.

We offer ADAS calibration and repairs, wheel alignments, tires, suspension repairs, and etc. We are a one stop shop for all automotive repairs needs.
