Pickle Paradise

We have 7 indoor pickleball courts for year-round play, featuring a special training court (#4), and our Championship Court, #7.

Just starting with IndoorMedia – have done some social media stuff, but need a more professional representation.

We have around 10 employees currently, including high energy, knowledgeable coaches that will teach beginners to advanced players.

The owners, Julie and Matt, have been looking to start a business for several years. Ideas came and went. They were either not the right business, location, timing, or all of the above! When they went and played indoor pickleball, they thought, “Hey – this is amazing, and wouldn’t it be great if there was somewhere closer to us to do this?” The seed was planted, and they jumped into trying to identify the perfect location and developing the business plan. The idea and business launched relatively quickly, in about 5 months, due to identifying the perfect facility that was a, mostly, blank canvas in Elk River, MN in the old movie theater building.

Julie spent over 25 years in corporate America before starting this adventure, while Matt still works his corporate job and assists with this business when possible.

Like with all businesses, there were many challenges to open and launch the business, explicitly with the sheer size of the facility. As we are just getting started, we anticipate there will be more challenges as we operate this facility.

While we are early on in our business, we have met amazing people and have loved serving our members. During a series of “sneak peeks,” we met one member, named Nic. He was incredible – sharing his experiences with us, providing advice and perspective, and setting up a private challenge series that is bringing players in from a variety of locations around the metro. Nic is a terrific person, very genuine and gracious, and has reinforced our passion for the business!

We don’t really believe in the idea of “competitors” in pickleball — the sport thrives when more people play, and every club plays a role in growing that community. We’re all in this together to make pickleball accessible and fun for everyone. That said, we’d welcome all players, no matter where else they play, because Pickle Paradise truly offers a unique experience. Each court has its own private entrance and second-level viewing windows, creating a comfortable and elevated atmosphere. Players can refuel at our smoothie and coffee bar, relax in event rooms, or unwind in The Palm Perch, featuring pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, and more. It’s more than a place to play — it’s a full experience built around community, comfort, and connection.

At Pickle Paradise, we offer much more than just great courts to play on. The Kitchen Counter, our in-house smoothie and specialty coffee bar, serves amazing drinks like protein smoothies, cold brew, coffee, tea and lemon sippers. We also host private events — from birthday parties and team-building outings to fundraisers and themed tournaments — with dedicated event rooms and customizable packages. Our upstairs lounge, The Palm Perch, offers pool tables, ping pong, and shuffleboard for added fun before or after your games. Plus, we provide court rentals for coaching, private lessons, and even corporate pickleball socials. Whether you want to improve your game, celebrate, or just hang out, Pickle Paradise has a lot more to enjoy than people might expect.
