In your own words, please write a paragraph about how the owner or partners got interested in starting this business. Is the owner the first person in their family to own a business? Did they have a career before starting this business? Were there any specific challenges they faced in opening or keeping the business open?

My journey into the world of dry cleaning began with my dad’s patronage. For over twenty years, he entrusted our local dry cleaners with his garments, fostering a deep familiarity and appreciation for the industry within our family. When an opportunity arose for him to invest in the business, he saw it as a chance to not only support the community but also provide opportunities for his children to thrive. As a full-time student at Utah State University studying business, I eagerly joined him in understanding every facet of the operation. Despite my youth, I threw myself into learning the ins and outs of the business, attending dry cleaning conventions and out-of-state trainings to deepen my knowledge. However, life had its twists; my aspirations to serve in the armed forces led me away from the business in 2015. Yet, after two years of active duty, I returned with a renewed sense of purpose. In 2019, I officially took the reins from my dad, finalizing the purchase in 2020, and thus began my journey of continuing his legacy while carving out my own path in the dry cleaning industry.
